Dishpan hands

My dishwasher has been broken all week. I have been completely inconvenienced and put upon by the whole hand-washing thing. Tonight I mentioned to Truck that I've never lived in a house without a dishwasher. He replied that he didn't live in a house with a dishwasher until he was eighteen, which means his mom didn't have one until she was in her forties.

Um, yeah, we're talking about MY pain here.

  1. Yeah...and that meant his sister didn't have a dishwasher either...and guess who's chore that was!?! MINE! Truck didn't ever have to clean dishes...laundry was his chore. Anyway, we had a washer and dryer so don't feel too bad for him!

  2. We actually talked about this. He said the exact same thing. However, he added that the washer/dryer were outside in the carport. He went on to clarify that a carport is not a garage, therefore open to the elements (I refrained from saying duh). I clucked the appropriately sympathetic noises and did NOT mention he has not done laundry, dishes, cooking or any other chore in the nearly 13 years of our marriage. I am a paragon of restraint.

My dishwasher is fixed & my cleaning ladies come every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., what do I have to complain about?

Oh, I'm sure I'll think of something....

  3. I'm glad to see a you have some "restraint". I work to support the domestic trade in NWA so I don't have to!

  4. Okay, that covers the last two years. Got any justifications for the decade prior to that?

She said with all the respect her loving, supportive, faithful, and generous husband deserved. Oh, did I say handsome? That one too.

Cause he REALLY is all those things, y'all. I knew he wasn't a cleaner when I married him so I'm not going to bitch about it now (much).
